E-mail Print PDF

On the 30th April David Brettell of the Development Trust Association and CLT Officer Andy Lloyd provided a first workshop for communities on accessing the national CLT Facilitation Fund. The fund is backed by the Esmee Fairbairn, Tudor and Venturesome charities and provides communities with practical and financial assistance to plan and set up a CLT as follows:

  1. Initial feasibility work - one day free consultancy
  2. Technical assistance – 3 days free consultancy to develop ideas and business planning
  3. Pre development finance – up to £30,000 to finalise business planning, commission scheme design, planning applications etc, with special provision to convert sums advanced to grant if schemes are not able to progress.
  4. Scheme development finance – providing match funding for commercial loans, repaid or converted to medium term loans at the point schemes are occupied.

If members of your community would like to find out about the benefits of developing community assets via a CLT, or have gone a bit further and would like to know more about the Faciliatation Fund please contact Andy via this web site. The Facilitation Fund leaflet is available at www.esmeefairbairn.org.uk/pdf/CLTF-leaflet.pdf
